Basic Site Information
What is this website about?
This website contains information about the art of Claire Venne. ClaireImage is the organization that markets her work.
Claire produces two types of art objects: paintings and "virtual work". The paintings as such are physical, and are executed with a number of different media, on a variety of substrate. For example, she paints with oil on canvas, with watercolor on paper, etc. Images are then produced from the paintings via photography and computer scanning. The "virtual work" is created directly on a computer, with various software packages, so that the images that are available for these correspond directly to them.
Thus, for the virtual work only images of various resolutions are available, whereas for the paintings there are both physically-real art objects (paintings of various types), as well as images of various resolutions.
What is for sale and for rent? How does this work?
First of all, the physical paintings themselves are both for sale and for rent. List prices for all the paintings are shown on the
archive pages and the thematic pages; details of sales and rental arrangements for the paintings are provided on the
"Sale and rental of paintings" page. All prices are in Canadian dollars. (Due to transportation difficulties, generally, we can only rent out work within 50 km of Montreal -
contact us for special arrangements.)
Secondly, licensing is available for the images, both derived from the paintings and from the virtual work. This allows for easy commercial access to use of the images for a large
number of purposes. Details of pricing for the images are given on the "Licensing of images" page.
Where can I find more information about the artist?
Where and how can I experience Claire's work?
Claire's work can be viewed in two sets of collections: Thematic Galleries and Archives.
In the Thematic Galleries the highlights of Claire's work can be accessed via thumbnail pictures.
All of Claire's work that is available to the public can be viewed in the Archives.
The images provided in the galleries and archives are low-resolution JPEG's. For commercial purposes a wide variety of very high-resolution files (e.g., PhotoShop) of the images can be provided. Color slides can also be made available. The physical paintings can be supplied either framed or unframed; all prices quoted are for unframed work.
